A Little About the Webmaster

My name is Fredrea Gregath Cook.  My parents were
John and Ann Gregath and my brother is Tim Gregath (Class of 1966).
We lived at Gregath Farms, on the Horse Creek arm of Grand Lake, where my dad had a dairy.
He was also instrumental in establishing Grand Valley Industries at Afton.  I am a 1964 graduate of Afton High School and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, and
Northeastern State University, Tahlequah.

Many people have asked me what I have been doing since high school. Like many, I have busied myself with family and friends.  My husband, Fredas L. Cook, and I were married January 1, 1966, in Afton, and make our home in the Twin Bridges area of the county. We are both retired and enjoy various activities.  A deep interest in history has led me, over
the years, to research and write several books.

Fredas & Fredrea Cook

My interest in history and genealogy led me to start this website. For me it is a learning experience that I have found quite enjoyable.  Reconnecting
with old friends and classmates has been great.
  Locating old
photographs and documents, as well as discovering more
about Afton through oral history interviews and simply visiting with
people connected to Afton has been, and continues to be, a pleasure.

Anyone with any photos or information about Afton, or the surrounding area, is more than welcome to contact me. Also, if any corrections
need to be made to the website, please feel free to contact me.
It is my hope that those who view this site enjoy it as much as
I have enjoyed putting it together.
